Introduction

Maslow pioneered the concept of hierarchy of needs. He defined needs into five different categories and argued that the needs work in a proper flow. Similarly, he defined that the fulfillment of one need needs to the other needs (Huitt, 2004). The five different needs that Maslow defined included the Physiological, safety, belongingness, self-esteem and self actualization (Maslow, Frager,& Fadiman, 1970). We will discuss each one of this needs in some detail. Moreover I will also discuss in this essay that how belonging needs and self-esteem needs apply to me.
