Introduction

This book named, “The life and reign of King Henry the Eighth” by Edward Herbert is one of the very old books. The book has many versions, but the one under discussion here is from the year 1674 and was written and published in London. The following paper first discusses the physical appearance of the book and the gives a short description or a summary in the following section.

Discussion

Talking about the physical description of the book, this book seems more like hand written then printed. Although the book is printed but the fonts used is very different as compared to the ones used in the books published generally these days. The margins that are on every page of the book even on the front / cover page do not seem tidy or straight. The page numbers given on the pages are in numeric and the title page of the book is written in red and black colors (Edward, n.d). The source title of the book given is, “The life and reign of King Henry the Eighth. Written by the right honorable Edward Lord Herbert of Cherbury.” The whole book and every page in the book have margins around it and every page has two columns. One is the story column however; the other is the citation column. Initially the book starts with an abstract and dedications that the writer has made (Edward, n.d) .

With little spacing and writing columns, the book is divided into several paragraphs and sometimes poses difficulty for the reader because of unclear presentation.
