Introduction

Education is a crucial part in the professional and personal context of every individual in the current socio cultural global environment. The current era can be ideally defined as the information age, in which the knowledge regarding various global factors has to be attained by an individual to be a significant part of the society. In this context I have chosen the educational area of 'history', as it is relevant in the current global environment. History has its immense importance in the lives of individuals due to which it has been possible that the people are able to learn and develop themselves over the period of time by learning from the past. Past provides rich experience of how things have actually started working it includes several inventions, Events and expeditions which can used to refer to current situations and can be used to help making things better in the current environment (Barton & Levstik, 2013). History is the reason for evolution and people have been continuously learning from the past to improve their present and not to repeat the same mistakes which have been committed by their forefathers.

Historical Development History Education

The subject of history is in itself a knowledge base which provides information about facts and figures about the past. History has played a tremendous role in developing and shaping the human lives throughout the course of lifetime. Although history is a bit difficult subject when it comes keep up with the events and the dates on which they had occurred, because remembering dates is not an easy task. It has been observed that adult students develop interest in history because history explains the past which includes the identity of an individual and the nation to which he/she belongs. It teaches about the success and mistakes of past through individual can learn, implement or avoid those things wherever possible. History is continuously evolving and by evolving it means the every second past history is created which is useful for the future generations (Wexler, 2009). History provides the information about the mistakes and blunders which have been committed by the previous generation. By knowing those mistakes people tend to avoid them in current practices and in future. This helps in shaping successful lives and activities and reducing the cycle of blunders.

History teaches about values, traditions and heritage which can be practiced in future in order to continue the tradition and avoid deviating from the original practices. History also preaches about religious practices throughout the world. Different religions have different events which they are still practicing and will continue to practice in future. This is primarily due to history as generations learn what there forefather had done since time and implement them in their lives. History explains about the nations and how they have struggled to reach the apex point or current standing.
