Introduction

Sociology is the science that studies the development, structure and function of society. Other disciplines in the social sciences (economics, political science, anthropology and psychology) also study issues pertaining to the field of sociology. Sociologists analyze the ways in which social structures, institutions (school, family, community and power) and social problems (crime) influence society. Nowadays, information technologies play a significant role in the modern world. Information technologies have a long history. Some technologies were created a few years ago, while some technologies are comparatively new. Technologies have penetrated all spheres of human activities: education, politics, trade, medicine, and this list can be prolonged. Television and phones are considered to be the primary technologies which appeared in the life of human beings. New technologies were produces in great amounts. Nonetheless, people used those technologies to simplify the process of fulfilling domestic duties. Ranney mentioned that “domestic housing, though it followed on the whole traditional forms, made use of new materials and new techniques of mass production” (Ranney, 1983). Today media has had a huge impact on people. One of the first mass media and most importantly, was the newspaper, because through him the information back and forth faster and transmitting.

“For over half a century, newspapers were the primary way people communicate information to a mass quickly and amplitude. His influence has weakened with the rise of radio, film and, what is more important, television.” (Comstock, 1978).

In this paper we'll take care of sociology in the issue of the influence of television in our society, such as acting to manipulate people and how it is able to perceive these messages and act, without even realizing it, compared to something tells us how we should be.

Currently the favorite pastime of many people around the world is watching television. Since, this started spreading and brought a number of significant changes to society. The TV has a great force to bring about change in people and this is because it uses the image that serves to internalize the messages as they get directly into the subconscious and are not processed to come to mind as in the case of read something such as color and have also grasping sounds more appealing to the viewer.
