ABSTRACT

The main of the research is to analyze the impact of theatre on Child Development (from toddlers to teenage). Child development is generally referred to development or growth throughout the pediatrics (a branch of medicine related to child care), and lifespan. With the passage of time these channels keep on developing through different aspects. It is important for children to develop and grow in various areas for becoming healthy, productive and happy members of the society in future. These include: physical, social, emotional, psychological, and cognitive. Various childhood activities at home as well at school help in enhancing and increasing the child development. The main focus of this is on the theatrical activities in child development. Participating in drama activities during their early childhood development stages have been observed to promote the development of language skills among children. This study employed quantitative research method for obtaining information about the effectiveness of theatre in child development and how it can be better than other activities. The research survey was mainly focused on teachers' and parents' perception about how theatre plays an important role in child development. The research findings identified that theatre helps in increasing problem-solving skills, cognitive skills, physical development, social and emotional understanding and relates to relates life experiences.

Child development is referred to emotional, psychological and biological changes that might occur or appear in human beings from the time of their birth till the end of their adolescents, as the individuals move on from the mode of being dependent towards an increase in autonomy or independence. Since these changes that occur are significantly influenced by genetic factors and the events happening in an individual's life, it is important to study the psychology of children for enhancing child development.
