Instructional plan

Introduction

In the profession of teaching, one cannot totally rely upon just one teaching style because not all members of classroom are same; every class room has a different set of audience from others. Especially a classroom that is comprised of students that come from different cultures, regions, locations, traditions, attitude, etc. This setting is more or less observed in foreign universities or educational institutes offering higher studies. Therefore, it becomes necessary for a teacher to prepare and plan a classroom instructional plan officially to cater the instruction needs of students belonging to multiple cultures. The very first step to make classroom environment relaxing and comfortable is to allow all students to introduce themselves one by one so that everybody comes to know about each other inclusive of names, background, past education, and common activities. The teacher should play a significant role in this regard by asking different questions to each of the students regarding their likes, dislikes, profession, ideas, and habits to encourage the everyone to share this kind of information with each other in the classroom. The main objective is to make everyone feel comfortable and establish a friendly and cooperative environment for studies. It will always be the main responsibility of the Teacher to choose curriculum, materials and resources that align with the standards and goals that are set forth by their state and district (Schiro, M., 2007). An instructional materials evaluation checklist allows the Educator to identify and select materials and resources that are appropriate for the support and learning of each and every student. An instructional checklist contains the four areas of design, procedures, clarity and efficiency. The checklist outlines certain criteria that each area must meet (www.apsva.us, n.d.).

The teacher's place or desk is placed in front of the class so that he or she can have a clear view of every student present within the class. The materials table is also along the front of the wall. The teacher's cabinet is against the right side of the wall near the entry of the room. The projector is in the middle of the classroom. The smart board along with the projector screen is to the right side of my desk against the front of the wall. The current environment of classroom is a lot more relaxing and ...
