Introduction

At present, globalisation is a vogue phenomenon. In this dynamic and transforming world, for success it is imperative for the business to adopt the phenomenon of globalisation. At one side, globalization is the cultivator of scores of benefits for the business, on the other side; it brings in several dilemmas for the management. This concept of globalization brings in challenges of comprehension and management of various aspects of cross culture (Thomas, 2008, pp. 110-115). According to Stephen Roberts: “Culture is the framework in which we communicate”

This recommends that several factors raise various issues of intercultural communication. The factors include environment, language, social organisation, technology, non-verbal communication and perception of authority. It is vital for manager to have the ability to assess these variables for ensuring that the messages are conveyed and the business is conducted across a wide cultural range (Steers, et al., 2010, pp. 17-24).

In this paper, we will discuss an international business cultural issue of international construction organisation Broad Sustainable Building Co. Ltd. that has been contracted for building the tallest skyscraper in the world in Rio De Janeiro. The countries that involved in this business are Dubai, China, Germany and USA. The financing services are contracted from Dubai, China has been involved for the import of the material, Germany has been providing, technological and engineering services and the labour has been hired locally with the Management from United States. On the other hand, management of such culturally diversified team bring in several challenges including tradition, culture and language (He & Liu, 2010, pp. 1-32).

Discussion

Cultural diversity is present in workplace, and this has been becoming more and more prevalent in business arena. The businesses in each industry have been encouraging women, minorities and older workers, disable people and foreign worker for joining white men workplace. The following analysis shows the issues of cultural diversity in business (Singh, 2012, pp. 19).

According to experts, different Business owners and managers still have to maintain or increase efforts to recruit and promote minorities in year 2010 and beyond. That is basically because it has diverse workforce and effectively manage is simply good business for different companies (Holden & Glisby, 2010, pp. 45-46).

Situation Analysis

Analysis of Scenario I

The case in Appendix-I exhibits some multicultural management issues during the international knowledge transfer process. The management devoted both time and energy to resolve the problem but they could not derive an effective solution for it (Selmer, 2012, pp. 1-5).

Analysis of Scenario II

In case scenario two , it was assumed that at any level of chain of command the option was restricted on the basis that anyone was not affected and it was considered right that everyone should be listened to.
