Introduction

The paper aims to emphasize on the controversial topic of Legalizing Marijuana. The topic is discussed in a critical way as both the concepts have been discussed in the paper. Most of the Americans call for the legalization of Marijuana not just for medical purposes, but for personal use. The other half of U.S. citizens is very dismissive of marijuana and with caution, because this easy drug is still not fully understood by scientists (Ruschmann, 2004, pp. 170 - 185). Thus, certain currents advocating that marijuana should be decriminalized, but not legalized. On the other hand, some feel its legalization, based on the fact that drugs like alcohol and nicotine are used and sold with complete freedom and no one ignores that cause ill health. Generally, marijuana is allowed legal for medical purposes in 18 states of the United States. Each state has specified rules and regulations. For instance, in Alaska marijuana laws are rigid, providing severe penalties for violators and a small amount is authorized (Losowsky, 2013, pp. 55 - 71).

Today, the decriminalization of marijuana is one of the issues that are in discussion worldwide. Although controversial, the trend is to decriminalize their use and start a new paradigm when it comes to the abuse of narcotic substances. Drugs called psychoactive interfere in the release of these chemical mediators that modulate the amount released or cause them to remain longer in the connection between neurons. This generates a number of mechanisms that alter ways. Something similar happens with homosexuals, until many were hiding and did not have the courage to reveal the sexuality (Stuart, 2006, pp. 69 - 75).
