Background

This paper intends to discuss different aspects associated with my learning and aspects of roles and responsibilities I understand about being associated with the profession of teaching. The paper is divided into four different groups as all the groups essentially provide different overviews about different arenas of learning. I believe the paper would provide an intense overview of my thinking about the profession of teaching.

Group A: Roles and Responsibilities and Relationships in Lifelong Learning

1. Understand own role and responsibilities in lifelong learning

*1.1 Summarize Key Aspects Of Legislation, Regulatory Requirements And Codes Of Practice To Own Role And Responsibilities.

The key aspects of legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice are significantly important to own roles and responsibilities. The profession of teaching needs to be carefully associated to the requirements. Lifelong learning requires intense commitment which is an essential aspect to serve the community and students positively. There are various requirements being an integral part of the legislation, regulations and codes of practice to be employed by the teachers within the own roles and responsibilities. Teachers need to be aware of the legislations in order to be fair with their dealings and the requirements of the field to teach the nation appropriately. The most important legislation that I assume is to be referred within my own roles and responsibilities is that there are several acts like The Equity Act (2010) and Data Protection Act (1998).

I found the Equity Act (2010) important to be included within my own roles and responsibilities because I believe we live in a society where people from diverse parts of the world come and get settled. Therefore, being a teacher I need to know the laws which require me to treat my students equally. Similarly, the acts which relate to data protection are also important to consider. All the laws related to the stoppage of unethical means within the field of education like plagiarism and related stuff needs to be catered within my own roles and responsibilities. It remains my upmost responsibility to make students better and ethical citizens for the purpose of prospering the society (Kay & Cropley, 2000 Pp. 200-212).

*1.2 Analyse Own Responsibilities Of Promoting Equality And Valuing Diversity.

Promoting equality and diversity in today's society remains one of the most important things to do. I believe that today's world needs to be extremely tolerant about the diversity of people and needs to learn the value of respecting diversity. We are living in a society which is extremely diverse and caters many people belonging to different backgrounds. Being related to the field of education; I must teach myself to respect the diversity in order to make my students learn the significance of respecting and tolerating the diverse views and opinions. Being proactive to ensure valuing diversity and promotion equality needs to make my teaching style in accordance with the diverse requirements of students.
