The following report is based on two questions that include the motivational techniques that are expected from a CEO that is newly appointed and the reasons why self-managed teams do not go along well.

(3) Motivational Techniques Expected to be Use by Newly Appointed CEO

For a company, it is a basic need to discover, implement and comprehend the motivation for employee. These are some principal concerns for the organization and their heads and also for the junior employees of the organization. The reason behind is the factor of employee motivation is responsible for deciding the maximum work performance from them. This in decides the failure or success of organization (Kim, 2006).

Analysis

To setup motivation is starting it with a good example. Being a CEO of the organization, the person should through his conduct reflect the culture, vision and mission of the organization they are leading in order to motivate its employees. In this scenario, the actions count more than words. Setting an example which others could follow is the first basic thing that the CEO of the organization should adopt (Baldoni, 2005). This is from where the basic learning begins. As if he preaches ethics and integrity within himself in each and every deal then he is setting a good example for employees to follow. But if the CEO preaches ethics and integrity only at the public forum, then this is an example of dishonesty which will be setup by him. Thus, this will result in less and less motivation for the employees. Hence, in order to be a successful CEO it is expected that he must preach the technique of teamwork (Baldoni, 2005).

Secondly, the main part is communication. It is as good as how effectively the CEO can make use of the communication process. It is very important that how the CEO learns, speaks and listens. As the CEO, he wishes to motivate the employees then he must be able to communicate his mission and vision. By doing this, the employees could easily follow him and also understand his vision about the organization (Baldoni, 2005).

In a corporate environment, the people like challenges. Being a CEO, by creating competition among the employees and by providing them challenges to accomplish could make it easy to achieve the goals of the organization. As such challenging environment motivates towards their work. Hence, produces better results (Baldoni, 2005).

In order to support his process of motivation, the fundamental requirement is encouragement. Being CEO, he must make ways encourage employees. This will motivate the employee to do better in order to get motivation (Baldoni, 2005).

Being a CEO, he must realize that he can attain the absolute powers over the organization only from others. Another major thing that should be done by him is to empower his employees. The process of empowerment is through which the employees realize their responsibilities, key role and authority towards the things.
