Marketing information can be collected from internal records, marketing intelligence, and marketing research (Frain, 1999, p.121). According to Puckett, “the marketing information system is composed of four subsystems: internal records, marketing intelligence, research, and analytical marketing.”(Puckett, 2012, p.46). This defines marketing intelligence as the process of collecting and gathering market information in order to know the correct situation of the organization in the market, and to gather existing potential customers for the product or services. It is also very essential in acquiring knowledge about the future market conditions, which is also very essential for the progress and sustainably of organization. The information gathered is then analyzed for the decision making and to identify the opportunities in the market. It also assists in determining strategies and planning for the future operations. It also assists in understanding the needs and demands of consumers.
