Introduction

The National Health Service (NHS) is one of the largest employers of people in the world. Therefore, its commitment to the health and safety of its employees is a big issue at any time. In UK, the majority of care is provided by the NHS and there are many NHS trusts in UK which need to be managed efficiently. For this purpose every NHS trust has an estate service department which manages the support and maintenance services of the trusts (Greener, 2008, pp. 2-10). The team of estates department works together to guarantee the safe environment of hospital and also makes it a hospitable place. There are varieties of services provided by the estate departments which need to be managed efficiently by the relevant managers. Keeping above mentioned National Health Service hospitals and trusts in view, it can be easily stated that in United Kingdom patients are given a lot of importance and their fastest recovery is guaranteed on the medical level. This all happens under the command of physicians, nurses and other supporting staff members. These hospitals provide patients with extra ordinary services along with the complete care. There are also situations in which not only patients but their attendants also need support from staff members. There are staff members who provide comfort to the attendants of the patients. All these services are very essential when it comes to running a reputed hospital.
