Nowadays poverty exists everywhere. It is a critical factor, that is completely filled with issues and problems faced by children and young people. They may experience social and health issues that will alter on change in to academic, behavioral and employment problems. Poverty leads to starvation and increase in death rate of young children who are not able to get complete medication and health food to live a healthy life. In fact, the damaging influence of poverty is discussed with the welfare policies undertaken by the government. Poverty is found in people who are with low or no income and living a low standard of living.

The measurement of poverty is not defined because according to UNICEF's study it is estimated that every day 22,000 children die due to poverty. If we just think for once that we live in the same city and country as they do but in reality the life which they are living in this world is totally different from us. This is considered as a matter of fact that in any industrialized nation, there is always a huge gap between the rich and poor. Poverty even forces them to beg on streets because they have no source of income or money to buy food or shelter. They cannot even afford for expensive medical treatments due to which they have to suffer various kinds of illnesses.

Poverty is inter-related with complex factors like health, early childhood development, social exclusion, obesity, measurement and evidence, urbanization, and gender equality. The world is divided into seven areas. Namely Europe & Central Asia, East Asia & Pacific, Middle East & North Africa, South Asia, Sub-Saharan & Africa, Latin America & Caribbean, and North America. In a study by The World Bank (2008) of global poverty, 1.3 billion people hang about below the poverty line with an income of US $ 1.25 a day. More than 1/3rd of world's population, 2.5 billion people lives below the income of US $ 2 a day.
