Process Improvement Plan

Abstract

Statistical process control method has been applied to assess whether process activity of concocting to driving to work is in control or not. SPC Control and X-Bar chart analysis has been applied to the data, which shows that flow process of the activity is in control. Average activity time for the collected is within the upper control limit and lower control limit intervals. Seasonal factor may influence the completion time of the activity. This would result in increasing the total activity time, which would result in making the project out of control.

Introduction

Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods have significant implications in the Transport Management System for the city (Balnaves, 2007). It helps in ensuring the efficiency of system by analyzing the weak parts in the system. SPC is used extensively to identify the deviational causes and reasons that are different from natural variation causes in a process system. Although it does not provide the configurative solution of the problems identified in the system however, it enables the analyst to accurately address the issues by examining different aspect of quality control.
