PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Software Development: Project Management

Mobile Phone Application Project Management

Introduction

Research has proved that most of the development programs which are also known as information and communications technology are being run on a one point or in other words a single project. In spite of that there are numerous ways of running information and communications technology into multiple ways. Besides that large number of projects consists of numerous projects related to project management. The disparities arises in the project on the basis of the conditions and type of the customer's requirement like risk management (Wysocki, 2011, pp.23).

In today's world, majority of the organizations find it difficult in implementing and classifying the information and communications technology programs into different set of projects related to development. Research has proven time and again that whenever an organization starts a new project, it focuses on one project only but with the passage of time the projects are divided into various sub projects. Organizations make sub projects due to the fact that it is easy to manage and plan through this way and creates less hassle for the project managers. Thayer and Yourdon (2000, 45) are of the view that that if large projects are divided into smaller sub projects, then there should be proper planning and training related to it. They also believe that if such projects are not handled or planned properly then the project is likely to suffer from time and cost constraints.

Task 2: Estimation of the Time and Cost for the Entire Project

A bottom up technique will be used for determining and analyzing the proposed project. Bottom up technique is one of the most famous techniques in estimating cost and time as it has the ability to improve the numerous components related to the project. In simple words, through this approach, bigger task are broken into smaller sub tasks. Once the task is divided into smaller segments, the next step is to estimate various the value and cost linked with each section of work (divided tasks). The approximation identified for the sub task is summed up to have a big estimate of the whole plan or the complete tasks (Shelly, 2011,pp. 114).

Task 3: Estimating the Number of Programmers and Designers Needed

Experts believe that the main and major focus should be on the cost as it is the fundamental and prime source of success for any business entity. Once the business starts booming, the customer is the one who should get the ultimate satisfaction out of the products and services. In all these situations, the role of project manager cannot be denied. He should simply not focus on cost but his job is also to focus on the value of the deliverables as well (Sanghera, 2008: 101).

Design Costs

It is considered to be the most important step for any user interface design project. All the mobile based applications are dependent on the cost of the design. It is observed that most of the customers are happy when the design user interface ...
