Abstract

The study is conducted on the impact of Read Write Inc program on attitudes and feelings towards spelling on KS2 pupils and staff at a small rural primary school. As this program is especially developed for the children who are age between 3 to 6 years. In this study the main focus was on the spelling and reading of children. The study was conducted in rural school and the impact of implementation has been analyzed by conducting survey of parents and staff of schools. The results have shown good and positive response from parents and staff members regarding the program due to the improvement in the performance of student.

Background of the study

The Read Write Inc. program is an effective program concern education which has been designed and formulated such that it can offer inspiring and effective professional training to the children studying in primary schools. The researchers have conducted significant studies following which it has been concluded that Read Write Inc. program can substantially help in the transformation of teaching and learning practices, thereby positively impacting literacy rate in schools and colleges. Read Write Inc. program primarily involves various programs which provide systematic approach towards increasing literacy rate through covering teaching and learning aspects of reading, spelling, writing and comprehension. The various elements of the Read Write Inc. program can be utilised independently or could also be incorporated as learning approach for the students in the strategy already in place so as to deliver holistic strategy (Whittrock, 1986, pp. 45).
