Introduction

The discussion around the theme of race and ethnicity is one of the most constant debates in contemporary society. These two terms, race and ethnicity, are clearly found in our everyday conversations i.e. in newspapers, magazines and numerous TV programs. But, still most people do not know exactly the differences between the concepts of race and ethnicity. Lack of knowledge about the concepts of race and ethnicity is common for many other terms and expressions of our day-to-day activities. The categorization of individuals` race and ethnicity is widely used both in diagnosis and scientific research. The physical differences developed over time, either by isolation and adaptations to the environment or by breeding within the group (Francis, 2007). It emphasizes the characteristics transmitted from generation to generation and determines the appearance of the various ethnic groups that are classified as races.

The concept of race and ethnicity is one of the most significant debates in contemporary society that needs to be understood in order to avoid many such activities that are related to them.

The concept of race is closely related to the biological as well as physical differences that make a particular group. Ethnicity concept is related to the field of culture, the ways of life, customs, and linguistic affinities of a particular people that create the conditions of belonging ethnicity. One can better understand ethnic issues from the television news For instance, the eternal conflict between groups living in the Middle East political dispute over territory or for religious reasons (Thernstrom, 2001).
