Renewable Energy Resources

Introduction

Energy has always been an important element of human life. The industrial revolution gave an impetus to the use of energy in different instruments and machines. It was because of the use of energy that the developed nations made progress in every field and the trend continues. Despite the crises, energy has remained one of the most important pillars of human society. Now, with the advent of global warming, globalization and other myriad of issues, the nations of the world are enticed to come forward with policies, aimed at the conservation of energy. Although energy can be conserved, but the fact that we have utilized it so badly, or we can, have not utilized it properly, which has resulted in triggering an energy crises.

Global warming has also played an important part in making the countries realize the importance of alternative energy sources. This so-called energy crisis has affected the developed and the under-developed countries as a whole. Under-developed countries have been hit the hardest due to unavailability of infrastructure and policies to regulate the generation, supply, and consumption of energy. Keeping in view the importance of energy, the developed nations have rightly assessed and emphasized on the search for renewable energy sources.

Discussion

Today scientists try to encourage use of alternative energy instead of fossil fuels because their combustion produces air pollution and contributes to the increase in global temperature. In addition, forecasts of scientists predict that these fuels will run out within a century. For these reasons scientist prefer to utilize renewable energy as alternative energy sources, so called because they are made from natural raw materials (sun, water, wind, wood, geothermal) which are formed and renewed continuously and the energy generated from them are unlimited. It will be a huge achievement if scientists are allowed to produce energy without polluting the environment or destroy the planet's natural resources. The use of renewable energy is still limited by the low efficiency and much higher costs than fossil fuels to build industries that produce this type of energy.

Alternate energy resources

In today's advanced world through advanced technologies and scientific enhancement, there are several facilities available to generate renewable energy. There are several different types of renewable energy sources currently available (while some are still in their development phases).

Solar

The heat from the sun can be used to generate a massive amount of energy. To collect this heat, solar panels are used, which look like mirrors and photovoltaic cells that convert sunlight into electricity without combustion or emissions. Solar panels are placed in communication systems and roofs of buildings, roofs and windows. These days, solar panels are being used at homes to use electric kettles to heat water. However, solar panels though are expensive, but are persistent to the environment. Problems after installing solar panels in the form of alternative energy sources arise when it is cloudy season and at night time when sun light is not ...
