Introduction

The paper researching and presenting business information has been made on the topic Voluntary work for students. The researcher conducted secondary research to garner data on the topic. Authentic, reliable and latest sources of information were selected for review. The three articles that have been chosen for review are An Analysis of Problems in College Students' Participation in the Western China Program, The Rise of Voluntary Work in Higher Education and Corporate Social Responsibility in Business: Perspectives of Students and Graduate Employees and Keen volunteer is voted top foreign student (Holdsworth & Morgan, 2005, p. 56).

Discussion

The article The Rise of Voluntary Work in Higher Education and Corporate Social Responsibility in Business represents the perspective of graduate employees as well as students. A student may become a best learner if he truly considers himself a learner for life. These are students that do not wait for their graduation to get some hands on experience, rather engage in different voluntary activities to get experience that makes them stand apart from the rest of the lot, an increases their employment prospects. The research conducted through in-depth interviews suggests that there is a very close relationship between the values that a student will adhere to during his professional life and the ones that he learns as a volunteer worker. Hence, voluntary work does not only provide a good working experience and improves the level of confidence of the individual but it also forms a very important dimension in shaping the character of the young aspiring students. It leads to their personal development, and also enhances their ability to transfer their skills and learning to others whom they work with. This is one of the most important quality when it comes to employment (Stebbins, 2004, p. 25).

In this context, it is imperative to state that not all voluntary work is beneficial. How much a student will benefit from participation in various voluntary projects during the academic life depends on the nature of the projects and the nature of work done by the student in the project (Yumei, 2009, pp. 62). Students who work with diverse work minorities are valued more than the rest of the students who may be working on ordinary projects.

Another important aspect that is associated with Voluntary work for students is that they should not only work for adding something to their resume. In fact the real purpose behind doing voluntary work must remain intact. This means that some of the work they must do only because they want to do it, only because they want to help and do something good. This is what will help them in reaping the benefit of personality improvement.
