Research Methods: Romance in men and women

Data Collection

The survey includes 70 participants both male and female and a questionnaire contains 10 questions about the response of loving and caring their partners. The sample size of both men and women was equal so that the statistical results could be more accurate. The technique of likert-scale was used in the survey so that a wide range of answers could be gathered. The survey shows that the age group responded in the survey vary, i.e. a particular age group was not targeted in the survey (Kirby, Greaves & Reid, 2006).

Data Analysis

The descriptive statistics is used here to analyze the results based on the likert-scale. The purpose of using the descriptive statistics is to get a basic idea about the behavior of the people with their partners. The results show that the mean age group which falls in love is between 18-25 i.e. young people falls in love according to the survey. Similarly, most of the people strongly agreed with the perception that they have fallen in love at first sight at least once in their life. The respondents strongly disagreed with the perception that they kiss with their eyes closed. Similarly, using the likert-scale other answers could be analyzed and the overall survey shows that the respondents are somewhat romantic with their partners and does not even bother to show their love in public. The standard deviations are quite high because of which we can analyze that the deviations in the answers are present but still the results support the evidence that the respondents love to be with their partners and does not hesitate in loving them in public.

Further the differences in the mean and standard deviations of the romance scales between men women are significantly different than the other. The standard deviation different romance analyzing questions are significantly higher. The survey results conclude that the respondents love to romance with their partners and especially women are more romantic as compared to men even that they can kiss and hug their partners in public.
