Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the importance of several social, political and cultural impacts of science and technology over the different aspects of the society. The specific topic chosen in this regard is related to the transformations that changing definitions of the “human” and “nature” in relation to new biomedical practices, from prenatal technologies to sexual reassignment. With the passage of time; there are several changes witnessed within the manner in which concepts of human and nature are defined. The new biomedical practices seem to have relevant impact over all the different and important aspects of the society. Be it the differences in which humans perceives the sexual reassignment or the relevant environmental changes; all are impacted by the biomedical practices. The purpose of this paper is to make the readers aware about the importance of relevant transformations being made in the society with the passage of time.

Biomedical Practices

The field of biomedical sciences is gaining immense popularity in the current world due to its relevance to the technology and its impact over the society. The importance of biomedical sciences remains immense as it is gaining popularity related to the discussions of how cells, organs and systems essentially function within the human bodies. This is such an exciting and dynamic area of the human functioning that it elaborates over the proper understanding and treatment of dangerous human diseases (Potvin et al 2005).

The biomedical sciences are essentially shaping up the modern medical practices. However; there is an important aspect to realize that biomedical sciences do not become a substitute for medicine but it only provides new and important decisions to the important concepts. The new biomedical practices are becoming important as they result in finding new ways to treat the people through the proper development of diagnostic tools or new therapeutic strategies. The biomedical sciences basically relates to the development of new tools to help the treatment process (Paola, Walker & Nixon, 2010).

The biomedical practices have both negatively and positively impacted the field of medicine. Positively is like it has facilitated the development of new diagnostic tools and treatment procedures for the dangerous diseases that world is witnessing today. On the other hand; people are also getting involved in the incidences of abusive medical operations. For instance; the prenatal changes or trying to modify one's own gender remain the most disgusting aspects of the biomedical practices and its implications. The gender is suppose to be natural and this interference of biomedical advancements in the nature is essentially changing the definitions of human and nature both in the practical world (Lewis, Hodge, Gamage & Whittaker, 2011).
