System Analysis Report

Introduction

Reporting is an essential part of any organization. It helps the firm and the management of the firm to identify areas where improvement is necessary, changes need to be made, errors in the system, how to upgrade the system and etc. All these recommendations and suggestions are presented in a report format either on a weekly basis, monthly or on yearly basis. It is the responsibility of the managers or the supervisors to report to the higher authorities about the performance of the system. The managers also need to identify that how much the goals and objectives are achieved with the help of the present system and what are the lacking that need to be improved in the coming weeks, months or years. A system analysis report is generated by the system designer in which he or she analyzes the whole system from every angle and report to the decision makers about the system performance. The system analysis report will be generated in order to facilitate the decision makers regarding the replacement of the old system by a new system. The report will provide economic analysis, operational analysis, market analysis and financial analysis in order to find a better replacement for the existing system. The system analysis report will identify whether it is feasible to adopt a new system or not.

Discussion

It is very difficult for a company that manufacturer's heavy duty power tools used generally by the contractors to get quick responses from the customers about the performance of the company's products. The company currently uses its after sales service processing system to analyze the feedback of the customer. The process which the company follows is a very time taking process and the upper hierarchy has decided to replace this process with a more advance and a quick method. According to the upper hierarchy the system does not supports the quickly changing business environment on the daily basis, thus as a system designer it is my responsibility to design a system that is effective and efficient. A system should be designed that is flexible and adaptive so that it can quickly respond to the changing environment around it. In order to develop a system it is essential that the cost analysis of a new system should be proposed so that a system should be developed within the amount of available resources with the organization. A cost analysis will also aid the decision makers to compare it with the actual results so that the performance of the system is properly judged and an estimate of the profit and loss will be evaluated.

A cost analysis includes the developmental cost and the operation cost of the system annually. The cost analysis for the heavy duty power tools manufacturing will be as following:
