ADHD

The term ADHD refers to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, many children suffer from this severe disease and it is continues in their adulthood. The symptoms of this disease include lack of concentration, hyper behavior and the child being constantly impatient. The self esteem of children suffering from this disease is also low which affects their school performance as well as their relations with others (Cleave, 2008). This disease is divided into three categories. Firstly, an inattentive type, the symptoms of this category includes lack of attention and minor errors made by children in their school work. Not being able to concentrate in any particular activity. An ADHD child's having problems in listening and following instructions. Being unorganized, always trying to avoid things that require mental work.

Children with this type of ADHD tend to get distracted easily and forget things easily. The second type of category is the hyperactive and the impulsive children, the symptoms of such type includes always fidgeting with things, it is difficult for such children to sit quietly on one place. They constantly want to run around. They are very much impatient and interrupt a lot when people are talking. The third type is the most common type of ADHD found in children. This is the combined type which includes some symptoms from both the above mentioned types. The effect of ADHD on family depends on how much the child is severely affected by ADHD, along with the living style of the family also plays an important role in it, this includes not only parents but other siblings as well (Mikami , 2010).

Human development

An ADHD child may be given good forum for physical activity in some family but in other it might not, this would vary the behavior of child and will eventually differ in the way the families are affected. It is important for any person suffering from ADHD to let other people who are close to them know about their disease, this will help them deal with it together, without spoiling their relationship with each other. By doing this, people involved can work together to improve the condition of the person suffering. By talking to each other, strategies can be identified to cope up with the disease (Rapport et al, 2009).

As due to the high level of uncertainty in the behavior of child or adult suffering from this disease, their relationships with their members of the family can be badly affected. This disease is one of the most common types of mental disorder in children, and majority of which are boys. This disease often tends to continue in later years as well, and if not dealt with it in the right positive manner, it can really lead to high level of frustration and stress for both the person suffering it and the family members of that person.
