CHAPTER 4: ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION

Introduction

Interviews were conducted from the clients and respondents belonged to the age group of 18 to 19 years of age. Majority of the respondents who participated in this study were in college or done with college. The respondents who participated in this study were suffered from any mishaps in their lives. The respondents faced different serious scenarios that affected negatively. One of the respondents finished his school but still unemployed, the stress and anxiety in his life was that he does not find anything interesting and meaning to live for. Nobody cares for him and he is still single. These were the reasons he visited to GP. Another respondent who participated in this study was also going through some negative phase and this caused him to visit to GP. The main problem was that wanted to continue to his studies as he was done with his school but his parents cannot afford that. His relationship status was not also satisfactory, as he broke up with his girlfriend. These reasons of mental disturbance lead to anxiety and stress. The other respondents who participated in this study also gone through the tragedy and this tragedy led him to anxiety and distress. Still he was in college but faced an accident and that incident lead him to fear, stress, and anxiety. Again bad incidents resulted that the patients do not find anything interesting. One of the respondents also faced a negative and bad experience in his past as his father passed away when he was child, apart from that, he lost his fast friend from the same disease. These bad memories from the same disease resulted negatively on his behavior and he started blaming himself for the loss.

The other participant also had some trouble past as his parents were separated and they do not talk to each other's. This affected the upbringing of that child and he becomes isolated by nature and does not feel comfortable in making friends. The last respondent was come from a large family, both parents unemployed, currently repeating his leaving certificate. This resulted in the emotionally and mentally disturbed behavior of that individual. The background of all the respondents suggested that past bad incidents or memories affected negatively on male adolescent behaviors. There were eight participants who were selected for conducting interviews and 13 interview questions were asked from them.

What prompted you go to your GP?

The question was asked from the respondents that what make them prompt to go to GP. Majority of the responded were well aware that something is wrong with them and in order to cope up with that they have to consult with GP.
