ABSTRACT

Very few researches have been done on the impact of tourism on local residents of Cox's bazaar. On this research we will try to find out the impact of tourism development on Cox's bazaar. We will try to analyse the positive and negative impact of tourism on economical, social, cultural and environment factors. The research is unique as it looks at the socio economic factors of a country from the perspective of tourism. It also highlights the trends and the pace of development in Bangladesh and how has it affected stakeholders residing in the region. The aim of this work, which is applying cutting edge technology, is to obtain a thorough knowledge of the environment at different stages of tourism development, and diagnose their condition and its evolutionary perspective as role models obtained. In this way, and scientific criteria, the researchers propose to the competent authorities strategies to positive economic development for local societies, but without losing a sustainable approach to the use of these fragile coastal areas.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The industry of tourism has gone through fast growth of matchless characteristics over the last several years. This industry has been the source of generating more than 10 percept of global GDP along with 10 percent of global employment (Martin, 2003). Tourism is now, more than ever, identified as a major economic factor in many locations globally, including value for foreign exchange trading but also for providing assistance for trade sectors and ecological, social, social, and ancient sources assistance and protection. This has mainly been due to the introduction of a 'borderless' global opportunity and improved information distribution about the grand sceneries across the globe.
