Abstract

American Intellectual Union (AIU) collects the data to determine the job satisfaction of employees in US. There were different qualitative and quantitative variables used to determine job satisfaction. The results obtained from the basic statistical analysis show that intrinsic, extrinsic and benefits given to the employees are all equally proportional in providing job satisfaction to the employees.

Introduction

Job satisfaction in employees is considered as a significant tool for their increasing performance in their relevant industry. There are some key points for employees that help them in determining the level of job satisfaction which includes salary and other benefits provided them whether intrinsic or extrinsic. This study will help to analyze the job satisfaction of employees in US having different tenures and different departments to analyze a combination of analysis regarding job satisfaction.

Chosen Variables

For this study, both qualitative and quantitative variables are used to determine a broader perspective for any significant conclusion. The qualitative variables include position of the employees, gender, age and their departments. Similarly, the quantitative variables include intrinsic, extrinsic and overall job satisfaction which has been measured quantitatively through the scale of 7.

Difference in variable types

The major difference between qualitative and quantitative variables is that the qualitative variables are used to determine the discrete answers in any analysis i.e. gender of a person being male or female. Further, in our study departments of employees are also qualitative because a person belongs to only no more than one department. Quantitative variables on the other hand may provide discrete and even continuous results i.e. in our study the intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction in US is measured in decimals as well.
