Introduction

Designing a web page requires formulation, preparation, forming, and implementation of media content delivered electronically over the Internet. It requires the help of Markup language, which is suitable for analysis by a network browser, and exhibited in the form of GUI (Graphical user interface) (Koman and Niederst 1998).

Website designing process is quite complicated and has many aspects and design concerns. As the internet is developing rapidly, revived concerns may appear in the future. The goal of websites is to achieve desired exposure and response. The basic design concerns for a typical website are:

Content: It is the information available on the site. This information should be relevant and targeted towards a specific population.

Usability: for a website to be successful, it should have simple, user-friendly and reliable navigation and interface (Koman and Niederst 1998).

Appearance: the appearance of the site should be consistent. Text and images should have a similar style and font throughout the site. Relevant, professional and appealing styles are the ones that are most preferred.

Visibility: The website should be easy to search via the leading search engines.

Media Formats and Plug-Ins Necessary for the Website

The internet browsers have the capability to download all types and formats of data files such as, text, images, audio and video. We use other computer programs for displaying these data files. These programs are categorized into two broad categories, which can be utilized to display or play file formats, which are not readable directly by the internet browser. These categories are plug-ins and external helper applications (Koman and Niederst 1998). Plug-ins are programs, which can expand the inherent capabilities of the internet browsers.
