Wind Technology

Introduction

Wind technology is the kinetic technology of moving air masses in the atmosphere. Since it is replenished in the short term by the action of the sun, it is one of the renewable energies. The use of wind technology using wind mills - now for generating electricity with wind turbines - is a well-known since ancient times; way to make technology from the environment for technical purposes is available. Wind technology has historically been used for mechanical tasks that required much physical effort, as was grinding grain or raise water from wells. In these cases the final technology used was the mechanical energy; however, over the years the objective sought was to produce electricity from wind (Zhixin, 2009).

However, for the generation of electrical technology apart wind technology interests us much more the origin of winds in more specific areas of the planet, these winds are called local winds, among these are the sea breezes are due to the temperature difference between sea and land, are also called mountain winds that are produced by the heating of the mountains and this affects the air density and wind makes the climb up the mountainside or down depending on whether this is or night days (Zhixin, 2009).

Discussion

The generation of electricity from wind power in Denmark took place around 1890, when he performed the first experiments with wind turbines, often resulting in up to 200kw. Since 1995 until today we have seen exponential growth of wind power around the world including countries such as Spain, Denmark, Holland and Germany and it is also providing beneficial results to the economic scenarios. However, wind technology have evolved to suit different needs over the years and acting as a positive input for the economies across the globe (Amirat, 2009).

Currently many countries have wind technology as a primary technology source in full swing. The countries that stand out as future large wind power generators are: China, India, South America and USA In fact, China already has large wind turbine manufacturers who have achieved highly reliable technologies. One way wind technology is best known for onshore wind, as we are familiar to see wind turbines on land, however, the surface of the sea is so vast, and it presents the most abundant wind resources of the earth that have developed in recent year's technologies for wind turbines at sea. Note that, even knowing that wind technology is clean technology and that contributes to the country, both economic benefit (to prevent the import of fossil fuels from foreign countries) and environmental, many politicians do not agree to install wind power in their localities, claiming visual impact and ignoring all the benefits across the board which would be the installation of wind farms (Zhixin, 2009).

Clean, renewable energy, environment, direct revenues to local budgets are still a few years ago, the main arguments for the development of wind energy. The global economic crisis showed, however, the right wind. This industry is one of the most effective drivers of the ...
