Artificial Intelligence

The term artificial intelligence, created by John McCarthy, is often abbreviated as AI. It is defined by one of its creators, Lee Marvin Minsky as "the construction of computer programs that engage in tasks that are, for now, more satisfactorily accomplished by humans because they require high-level mental processes such as perceptual learning, the organization of memory and critical thinking.” Therefore it is said that the term "artificial" is associated with computers or electronic processes developed, and the term "intelligence" is associated with its aim to imitate the behavior.

Possibility of Strong A.I

The technology of computer is no doubt intriguing. But these computers need the mind of the programmers to make them operative, so we can say that the computers are limited to the minds of these programmers. However, computers are capable of answering a question in millions of different approaches according to the environment and conditions provided to it but it is still the programmer who sets the conditions and power of the computer to respond to some specific situation. One the basis of these arguments my opinion regarding the possibility strong AI is negative. To support my argument I will present a very simple and obvious example of communication. It is only the capability of the humans to come to a unique judgment when communicating with another human (Fearn and Nicholas, 2007). The ideal scenario for testing the communication process of humans is that when two unknown people of different cultures and languages have to communicate with each other. It's difficult but still they have the capability to adapt the situation and by using logic they can communicate with one another. But the critical question about AI or computer is about their ability to respond in such type of situation. Can computers handle such sort of condition? The answer is obviously ...
