Assessment for English Language Learners and Parents Standards

Introduction

The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) fulfills government obligations for considering the English Language skill of English dialect learners (ELLs) in kindergarten through degree 12 in four dialect domains: hearing, talking, reading, and writing. TELPAS assesses scholars in alignment with the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), which are part of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Student presentation is described in periods of four English dialect skill levels: starting, intermediate, sophisticated, and sophisticated high. TELPAS outcomes are utilised to rendezvous state and government describing and responsibility requirements.
