Abstract

The paper discusses about the Disaster Loan Management System. When hurricane hit the United States, the flood of loan applications intrude in the SBA. It was difficult for SBA to manage all the application and provide instant reply to them. All through it was time consuming and cannot be completed. SBA then decided to implement the loan management system that helps SBA to improve and make their operations effective. The paper discusses the comprehensive findings of how the Loan Management System is better than the traditional system. The paper provides understanding of case that happened after the disaster. The assignment is significant for the students and professionals.

What was wrong with the existing loan management system and why did SBA decide to replace it in 2004?

After hurricanes and disaster Small Business Administration found some flaws in the loan management system. They found main issue for the disaster loan management system. The challenge in the previous system was sheer volumes of applications. They receive around 418,000 applications for loan. It was time consuming and there were possibilities of errors. Disaster victims receive slow responses. They did not get instant assistance. They SBA evaluate and decide to reprocesses. The management went haphazard. SBA was not able to process all the applications at once and the need for new management system comes up. There were insufficient resources. That system was not cost effective. It was not possible for the SBA to analyse all the applications and put them in queue. From the initial entry phase till the last phase it was time consuming. Long planning required that limits the application processing. All these drawbacks influence SBA to implement new systems and make the loan management process easy.
