How does an early Childhood Teacher become Professional?


Being professional means, the person is able to relate to a profession, or he/she has the characteristics of a befitting a profession or the person is busy in a profession. Moreover being professional means the person is the qualification to teach apprentices.

Definition of professional

Under the definition of Professional attitude, we can describe it as having interest and the desire for doing a job with holding up a positive attitude towards the profession are essential elements that attains a higher level of professionalism. In general, the professionalism involves the refraining from the remarks which are needlessly inflammatory and they are unlikely for leading to nay constructive outcome (Hannon, 2003, pp. 99-112).

Professional early childhood teacher

A professional early childhood teacher is a person who teacher younger children in a classroom. This profession deals with children from infancy to age 8 and the parents of the kids. The early childhood educators organize and plan activities for preschoolers and school. Aid educators in early childhood care for preschool children under the supervision of early childhood educators. Educators and teaching assistants in early childhood involve children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional (SPICE, 2001)


There are few who would argue that appropriately trained early childhood professionals are unnecessary for high-quality service delivery. However, training is not best represented by pre-service qualifications alone. Teachers' practice is influenced not only by their pre-service training but by their values and the experiences they have had subsequent to graduation (Hannon, 2003, pp. 99-112). Educators working in early childhood centers early childhood care centers, kindergartens, nursery schools and centers for exceptional children. Teaching assistants are needed to work in early childhood centers, early childhood childcare centers and preschools (Edgar, 2000).

It is a fact that the success of the education process depends on many different and diverse factors, but the presence of incompetent teacher is considered as the cornerstone of this success (Hannon, 2003, pp. 99-112).

Discussion and Analysis

Early childhood services are evolving and changing as we learn more about the importance of the early years, and the contexts in which we can best support children's development. There is no doubt that early childhood professionals of the next decade will be undertaking different work in many ways than early childhood professionals of today. They will be working in different contexts with children whose needs are shaped by the changes in the world in which they live (Patrick & Kempler, 2000, 217-236).
