Introduction

As it was requested that there should be designed an evaluation of the training program, I have outlined the benefits of this program that will facilitate the company in the long run. The introduction and background of the company while strategies and benefits of the training program and its evaluation has been discussed in order to show its reliability. The Last Place Ltd. is a company that is operating a chain of mini-shops and Kiosks that provides shoe repair, key cutting, engraving and ancillary services. The company has around 60 channels that are mostly present in the areas and towns of London. The Last Place Ltd. is part of Butteridge Services Group that includes a variety of other companies such as Kleen-n-Smart, KlikPrint and SekureGone. The Last place Ltd. was bought by the Butteridge Services few years back. As the company start making progress by offering a variety of services, it expanded its network of chain. It required the company to increase its human resource as well.

The company provides extensive on the job training to its employees that help them in understanding the work process at the company. After getting on the job training, the employees are able to perform the job in a more efficient manner. The company not only provides training program to its new employees but also to its old senior employees. The company has designed a plan to increase the suggestive selling so that profits can be raised by enhancing efficiency. The company believes that by providing extensive training program to its employees, it can increase the effectiveness among the employees and will help the company to increase its profits. The company wants to enhance its suggestive selling that is sort of new trend and employees do not have sufficient knowledge about it. Therefore it is needed to provide a training program to the employees so that the company's goal of achieving profits can be attained. It will be beneficial for the company to develop and run such a training program. As the training program will need financial expenses by the company, the board of directors believes that the strategy for evaluating such a training program should be carried out (Leacock, 2005, 355).

Background of the Company

The Last Place Ltd. is a company owned by two brothers who inherited the business from their father in the South London. They started the business of shoe repairing. The company could barely meet its operating cost at that time in the 70's. There were many reasons behind the loss of the company. As the economic condition during that time was good and there was economic growth in the country, people had enough money to buy a new pair of shoes instead of getting repaired the old ones.
