Issues in W L. Gore & Associates

Change in Working Pattern

As the business world is facing continuous innovations in its processes, Gore is facing another issue of change in the working processes and there is a greater need of continuous scanning.

Threats from Other Businesses

This factor describes the fact the due to the dramatic increase in the market competition, and entrances of new businesses, the existing businesses of Gore are facing more problems than ever and there is a greater need for environmental scanning (Brendan & Leif, 2000).

Economic Conditions

The economy in which business is operating is the key that largely affects the businesses activities. The economic condition of the economy can be remaining same; it is affected by the change in the surroundings. This change may contribute positively or negatively depending upon the ability of the economy to accept the change. A single fluctuation can hit the Gore's roots badly. Therefore, there is a greater need of scanning the activities of economy (Thomas & McDaniel, 2007).

Competition

The business industry has changed today to the greater extent. The complex environment of business today calls for greater competition today and thus increasing the complexities of existing Gore's businesses to tackle this issue.

Geographic Condition

The geographic conditions are somehow responsible for the businesses. Geographical conditions are the natural, physical environment in which business operates therefore, important to take into considerations.

Exponential Growth

The rate of growth for the core procurement model and the future range of services that will be made available mean that the management of the organisation will be stretched in terms of their span of control. It will be a tall order to ensure growth at the current rate whilst developing new income streams, meeting any new regulations that are thrown at us, maintaining supplier relations and monitoring finance (Brendan & Leif, 2000).

Finding Staff

Finding reliable staff remains problematic and although the high level of unemployment should help there is no significant pool of staff to draw from who have experience within energy brokerage. This creates a requirement for speedy and good training and delivering this over and over again is a difficulty we have not yet conquered.

Work Force Diversity

The major issue that has been part of the organization is the work force diversity. There are some elements that need to properly sort out. The Gore should be able to identify the work force diversity. The demographic profiles of employees, their age, sex and race are of paramount importance (Fine, 2005). The Gore should observe the organizational climate to coordinate within the organizations. This will help the Gore to understand the organization behavior and then execute the plans that greatly benefit the organization needs and help in achieving the set targets. There are many other factors to the organization that will also have a significant impact on its success. Many of the HR practices and policies present in an organization will be significantly influenced by the culture surrounding the industry.
