Abstract

The main aim of this research was to find out the role of employee motivation and organisational performance. The research in an assessment of the research topic of motivation. Mixed methodology has been used for gathering the responses of employees and management of the United Bank Limited. The survey and interviews were intended to take their responses. In this light, the research has tried to identify the major ranked motivational factors. The analysis from the research findings has showed that satisfaction of job is the major ranked motivational factor. This research therefore can be considered as an introduction for much detailed research to be carried out by other researchers in future on the area of employee motivation.

CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY

Research Methodology

A research can be mixed in nature, that employs both the quantitative and qualitative resercah methods. This methodology can be an approach based on multiple methods, including an interpretative, or interpret, occurrence in terms of significance that people bring, naturalist approach to its main topic that required the research to examine aspects in their natural situations and attempting to make sense. For this research, qualitative approach is proper as the research needs and analysis of behaviour and opinions that is illustrative in nature and relies upon the interpretation of the researcher regarding the collocated data. Due to this reason, this research method is also known as the interpretative approach. For the present research, due to the varied type of the adopted qualitative research, two applicable approaches are deductive and inductive. On the other hand, keeping in view the findings to be offered in this dissertation and data to be examined, inductive approach will be utilized. The inductive approach can be defined as the organised procedure in order to analyse qualitative data where the study is directed by particular goals.

Data Collection

Collection of data for the research is a significant part as all the analysis and assumptions are based on the collected data. Data can be collected either from secondary or primary source.
