Overview of the company

Verizon Wireless is a mobile cellular operator in the United States existing established in 2000. Verizon Wireless is a leading company in American telecommunications specializes in mobile services. Verizon Wireless is the second largest cellular operator subscribers in the United States. The company is a joint venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group, the distribution of shares in the equity of 55% and 45% respectively. It is headquartered in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. It employs 65,000 people and announces 59.1 million users in early 2007. It is the largest mobile operator with 80 million customers. Its network covers a combined population of approximately 290 million in the United States. Verizon Wireless uses CDMA technology and incorporate 3G 4G technology in mid-2011.

Background of the interviewee

Janet Rohner is the present HR director at Verizon Wireless. She joined Verizon in the year 2009. Before joining Verizon, she worked in the human resource field in various different companies. Prior to joining Verizon, Janet was Regional Manager of Human Resources. She holds a degree in Human Resources and Public Relations and has a Masters in Business Administration. Attached to Verizon, human resource directors of Verizon Wireless, Janet Rohner now takes over the responsibility and control of the entire human resources department. Her main tasks include developing the skills of the company as a global business, development of managerial skills, taking into account risk management and optimization levers and synergies between the subsidiary and the group.
