Introduction

University and higher education department are created with the purpose of providing authentic education to future generation of the country, and by providing environment where student can learn the meaning of living life by honestly, ethically and morally (Gambescia, 2007).

However, these institutions are deeply worried about the ongoing environment of dishonesty found in the student, and have taken various measures to resolve this unethical practice in the institutions. Teachers and other faculty members of the institutions knows the importance of honesty and they practice it by not circulating the information of the student outside the premises, however these people are not sure about the activities of young teachers and new generation faculty members (Gambescia, 2007).

With frequent changing in the living standard of the world the means of providing education has also changed as know a day's internet has taken an effective role in proving improved and quality education, but with that has increased the practice of dishonesty among students. Therefore, this technology has posed certain new challenges for the school administration, and teachers in promoting the concept of ethical behavior, honesty and hard work among students (Gambescia, 2007).

Discussion

Providing academic honesty is growing concern for the management of the academic institutions because of frequent use internet, software, and other technologies. The biggest dilemma is that institutions cannot block access of this software, as they are perfect means of providing education to the students (Gambescia, 2007).

Usage of internet

Internet is considered as an effective source of providing proper education to the students, further in spite of providing education it has also helped in promoting unlimited opportunities to the pupils. In addition to these, internet is also used by people for achieving their personal interest (Ledwith, et al, 2008).

One common crime that is being done from the internet is that students are using copied information and submitting at institutions, this is known as plagiarism, and is destroying the capabilities of the students. The concept of plagiarism has gain popularity mainly because of certain scandals like online cheating (Spaluding, 2009).

To prevent the used of plagiarism material the authorities have introduced anti-plagiarism software that are working affectively and has managed to identify the faces of several students that have used the internet material for their advantage.
