Introduction

The process of communication can be regarded as the nub of all the processes and operations in an organization. It is this communication that allows the employees to understand waht they are supposed to do when their managers tell them their duties and responsibilities. Any disruption and misunderstanding in the process of communication can make the employees to perform the task that may result in serious consequences. There are a number of cases that imply that organizations have to face serious consequences as a result of miscommunication or no communication at all. This process of communication becomes much more important when employees work in teams and are required to coordinate with each other. The aim and objective of this paper is to talk about the importance of team building and effective communication process in the background of a case. The case study that is selected for this assignment is of Martin. The scenario that is revealed in the case study shows that a boy with the name of Martin have lost his life because the staff of the hospital in which he was admitted was unable to conduct the communication process in an effective and efficient way. Another issue that the description of the case highlights is that the staffs of the hospital were also incapable to practice the rules and regulations of the hospital. This gives rise to the issue of legal and ethical non compliance. The main reason to choose this case study is that this case study highlights issues such as communication gap, team building and cooperation and various legal and ethical issues. I prefer to talk about this case study because of these highlighted issues as these issues are the main part of almost each and every business. No matter in which filed you are these are the issues that are involved in every type of business. Discussion about these issues would increase my personal knowledge and information. As a result of the gaining knowledge and information with this regard I would be able to practice these things in my practical life in an effective and efficient way. The following part of the paper undertakes discussion about these ethical and legal issues and the importance of communication process.

The first ethical issue that this case study of Martin reveals is that the healthcare staff did not take into consideration what the family members of the patient is saying. Martin's parents or siblings must be informing nurses that he has not been given food and nutritional drip from many days.
