Introduction

Inter-professional working has been observed in parts of the world since a long time now. The concept owes its origin in the olden times when different new professions were introduced that inspired students to learn about more than one occupation simultaneously. Inter professional working seems easy to understand. It apparently involves members of different professions to come together and work together. However, the concept is deep rooted and not so easy to understand. The terms “inter profession” and “multi disciplinary” are used interchangeably, meaning one and the same thing. However “inter professional” working involves two professions only while “multi disciplinary” means more than two groups. However there are many issues of professional boundaries that greatly impact the environments in which inter professional practices are being conducted. This assignment aims at identifying and evaluating those practices with special reference to the United Kingdom's society, major issues creating hurdles for its establishment, Early Years Foundation Stage implications, and some problems of interagency working for children having special education needs.

Discussion

Inter professional working practices in early years education is, by no aspect, an easy task. Putting people together and making them worked in a combined setting does not guarantee a shared motive. Many problems may arise; a critical evaluation of inter professional collaboration is thus necessary to maintain workplace sanity and also to ensure success in the attainment of goals and objectives.

Common Assessment Framework (CAF)

Realising the importance of inter professional collaboration in early years of education, it is imperative for all statutory agencies to work with flexibility in the best interest of parents and their children. The CAF is a shared assessment and planning framework for use across all children's services and all local areas in England. It aims to help the early identification of children's additional needs and promote co-ordinated service provision to meet them

The CAF is a standardized approach to conducting an assessment of a child's additional needs and deciding which methods should address those needs. If the work is carried out supportively with the parents and the children, success is guaranteed in the sense that a better understanding about the different concerned professions will result. There will be mutual cooperation in each aspect of the collaboration and sharing and implementation of ideas will be a lot easier. The schools where inter professional collaboration is taking place; should officially publish these partnership with health and social services, support services, and other relevant voluntary organisations.

A need professional is any teacher, nurse, midwife or a person who is responsible for the child progress. These professionals are qualified for the said job and they are responsible to keep close contact with the child and the family.
