Left versus Right Brain

Introduction

The term cerebral hemisphere covered by each of the two structures that make up the largest part of the brain. Are inverse to each other, but not inversely symmetrical, are asymmetric, as the two sides of the face of the individual. A deep fissure in the sagittal midline (the inter-hemispheric fissure or longitudinal cerebral) divides into right and left brain hemisphere. This fissure contains a fold of Dura and arteries anterior cerebral. In the depths of the fissure, the corpus callosum (a corner formed by a cluster of nerve fibers in white), connects the two hemispheres across the midline and transferring information from one side to another.

Left hemisphere

The left hemisphere is the drive able to recognize groups of letters forming words and phrases to form groups of words, both in regard to speech, the writing, the numbers, the math and logic, as the necessary powers to transform a set of information in words, gestures and thoughts. John Hugh lings Jackson British neurologist, and in 1878 described the left hemisphere as the center of the power of expression. Depending on its severity, a stroke affecting this structure may result in loss of function, loss of speech function and affect motor skills on the right side of the body. According to the psycholinguistic theory the process of construction of a sentence is governed by a number of related ideas, but the mechanism that allows the mind to group words to form grammatical sentences is not fully deciphered. (Wynn, 2002).

The hemisphere which is then stored concepts into words (love, amour, amore, love, liebe) rather than textual memory. That is, the brain understands the ideas, concepts and stores them in a nonverbal language, then translated into a language or language learned by the individual by culture. Intelligence tests investigating vocabulary, verbal comprehension, memory and mental arithmetic, detect the source of the activity in the left hemisphere. The left hemisphere specializes in language articulated motor control apparatus articulating telephone, data management logic, proportional thinking, information processing in series one at a time, information management mathematics, memory verbal, logical aspects of grammatical language, organization the syntax , discrimination, phonics, attention focused, time management, planning, execution and decision-making and long-term memory. Intelligence tests measure mainly the activity of this hemisphere. Many of the activities attributed to the conscious of its own. Mainly governs the right side of the body. Processes information using the analysis, which is the method to solve a problem breaking it down into parts and examine these one by one (Howard, 2006).

Right Hemisphere

The right hemisphere governs many specialized functions as the left. His way of design and process information is different from the left hemisphere. It uses the conventional mechanisms for the analysis of the thoughts that used the left hemisphere. Integrator is a hemisphere, the center of visual-spatial abilities nonverbal, specializing in sensations, feelings, prosody and special abilities, and visual and audible language not as artistic and ...
