Malaria is a foremost public health dilemma in warm climates particularly in developing nations. It is a foremost source of disease and demise among non-immune travellers/immigrants, children under 5 years, and pregnant women. Malaria is a disease caused by the protozoan parasites of the genus Plasmodium. The 4 species that commonly infect man are: P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae. Malaria passes on by the anopheles mosquito(only female). Indigenous malaria can reach as far as 64oN and 32oS.
