Introduction

Operation Management is to organise quality. How does an Operation Manager proceed about organising quality? They can do this through correct teaching of workers, use of value components and productive planning. This may appear like many, but every part is absolutely crucial to the output of the last good. Also there are numerous answers and advancement that permit the operation supervisor to perform obligations and connection all components of the business process. Such answers encompass computer and IP answers (Slack et al, 2004, pp 45-178). Similarly Decision making is a part of nearly all human endeavours. While most decisions are attached with difficulty explaining, numerous are not. Managers may conclude to take activities that will set solely new measures of presentation or conclude to attain some new aim or set up a new main heading for their companies. This assignment aims at providing an analysis on organization structure, values, culture and change management in two companies. The Marriott hotels corporate culture and management style is based on meeting customer needs through excellence in quality, service and hospitality. Marriott is a leading accommodation, food and facilities management company, one of two companies formed as a result of the split of Marriott Corporation on 8 October 1993. Marriott Corporation was founded in 1927 when J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott opened a nine seat root beer stand called “The Hot Shoppe” in Washington DC. The first Marriott hotel, Twin Bridges Marriott Motor Hotel, opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1957. Today, Marriott International and Host Marriott Corporation are chaired respectively by JW (Bill) Marriott, Junior and Richard E. Marriott, sons of the former corporation's founders. With over 200,000 employees and operations in more than 50 countries worldwide, Marriott International enjoys strong market share and has annual sales of US$ 8 billion.
