Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Mouth Cancer” in a holistic context. Mouth cancer is also known as “Oral Cancer”. The main focus of the research is on “Mouth Cancer”. The research also discusses the major symptoms of mouth cancer. Every disease has its prognosis and some treatment. There are the three major kinds of treatments that are discussed below in detailed.

Introduction

Oral cancer is a destructive disease in the region of the head and neck can infiltrate and invade tissues and spread to other areas via the lymphatic and blood, resulting in distant metastasis (Werning 2007). Oral cancer is part of a group of cancers called head cancer and neck.

Statistics

The Organization World Health by the International Association of Registers of Cancer, reported that in the period between 1993 and 1997, 260 000 new cases detected in oral cancer. Of this figure fell to one third and two thirds developed countries to underdeveloped countries. For example, in Africa in 100 diagnoses at different locations, 40 corresponded to the oral cavity.

In U.S. 3, 100 and Argentina between 3 and 5 of every 100 people suffered from oral cancers. In India , for example, cancer is 40% oral cancers in general, by the habit of chewing betel nut and other local abusers, with foods that predispose to oral mucosa for the development of lesions that can potentially transform cancer (Silverman 2003). Symptoms

The main symptoms are;

Sore mouth or lip do not heal (the most common symptom)

Red or white patches on the gums, tongue, tonsils, or lining of the mouth
