Introduction

Professional competence is the foundation of knowledge and insight. Knowledge, both as knowledge and resource, creates and manipulates knowledge. Professional competence focuses on the learner as one whom actively producing new knowledge. A competent professional nurse can describe, analyze and discuss the clinical problems in which the expert's efforts have made a difference (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations 2002, pp. 67-79). They contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing through research and development projects.

Confidence in being assertive in communication

Assertive behaviour of nursing is the direct expression of the wishes, rights; feelings and opinions without actually threaten, punish or violate the rights of others. This implies respect for oneself, and respect for the rights and needs of others. It asses the consequences, that result from the expression of these feelings (Green 1996, pp. 231-246). The nurse can manage and coordinate the nursing tasks by department health nurses and in the delegate's absence. The nurse let their actions control of long-term goals or plans, based on their experience and intuition which means that one can focus directly on the current problem. Nurses can develop department standards, instructions and procedures.

Participation in clinical quality and research to the extent that tasks are part of a known competent practice. It is also important to have completed the introduction course on GCP and clinical drug research for nurses (Coyne 2010, pp. 36-59). They have the ability to see “what is possible” and can describe clinical episodes in which the expert's efforts can make a difference. Is aware of its nursing and personal identity consciously and have completed certified training of at least diploma level.
