Introduction

The New York State Office for the Aging provides valuable services to people who are over 60 years of age. The office provides options which can improve significant areas of such citizens.

In addition, the office helps in giving options such which can help in gaining further independence and productivity.  These options range from getting a home-delivered meal or services pertaining to home care. Moreover, the office also helps in providing employment which is rewarding. The New York State Office for the Aging also encourages volunteers to offer their services to others. Furthermore, it also encourages citizens to join a local senior center, or take part in Department events (AOA, 2011).

The role the New York State Office for the Aging is to increase the awareness amongst the public with reference to the contributions that the older citizens of New York make to the country. Other than this, it also makes the people aware about the needs of the older people by providing people with information, referral and efforts are also made to reach the people at community level. The aim of New York State Office for the Aging is to educate the older people as well as their caretakers about the services as well as the benefits that are available for them in order to provide assistance to them.
