Human Body and Gender Differences

Throughout the period of early modern Europe, sexuality became intrinsically connected to modern conceptions concerning the biological differences between female and male bodies. The lack of equality in sexual relationships is based on essentialist notions of universal passive femininity, preventing the establishment of egalitarian relations between the genders in other areas (O'Reilly, 2009, pp. 136). A comparative analysis of the transformation of real sexual scripts of different groups of women is particularly important. Theoretical analysis of the evolution of women's sexual standards in different contexts develops a sociological understanding of the power aspects of female sexuality.

The role of women have always been an integral part of the Early Modern Eurome time span. Women have impacted on the society to a great extent by fulfilling various relationships. These relationships include the relation of a mother, sister, daughter, etc. Power is an integral part of sexual relations, which are traditionally developed in the context of the economic and social inequalities between men and women (Egmond & Zwijnenberg, 2003, pp. 123). Some changes took place in the Early Modern Europe era and the gap between the male and female gender was reduced to some extent. These changes, however, hardly affected the sphere of sexual relations, which is still associated with inequality.
