SIGMUND FREUD AND PSYCHOANALYSIS

Sigmund Freud

Sigismund Freud was born on the 23rd in the year 1939. He was a neurologist, with his origin in Austria, and discovered the subject of psychoanalysis. Sigmund Freud is well known for the theories, he had made on the concept of part of the human brain, that is unconscious & the mechanics of subjugation. He was also known for developing the scientific technique for psychoanalysis to help them analyze the working of the human mind & managing the concept of psychopathology by utilizing the technique of conversation between the patient and the psychoanalyst. Sigmund Freud had an opinion that the drive for sex is the main force of motivation of our lives. For this purpose, he set up some techniques of therapeutic e.g. found out the occurrence of transmission in the therapeutic association, the application of the free relationship, and found out its essential character in the systematic procedure; he had translated the dreams as origins of insight into the desires of the unconscious mind. (Frank 1999, pp. 41)

Psychoanalysis

The Psychoanalytic theory defines to the concept and the dynamics of personality development, which underlie and direct the psychodynamic and the psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The concept of psychoanalysis deals with the working of the sub-conscious mind, and the affect it has on a man. The basic concept of Psychoanalysis maintains that the influence of the experiences related to sexuality in the childhood, which are stored in the unconscious mind, have the ability to escort to the development of emotional problems, when the child becomes an adult. (Frederick 1995, pp. 14) The principal method of treatment in the psychoanalysis involve the free connection of different ideas in the mind, and their explanation by the analyst and the patient, to find out the events that occurred long ago and to determine the importance of these events for the patient. The psychoanalyst also links the aspect of the history of the patient with the present scenario. This treatment makes efforts to release the patient from some particular symptom.

The evolution of psychoanalysis theory

The concept of psychoanalysis was developed by Sigmund Freud in the year 1890s in Vienna.
