Introduction

Architecture is the process and at the same times a physical structure. It is the process in the sense that it never stops. It is a continuous process and with the passage of time it changes. These changes base on the culture, trends, history and other related factors of the society. This is the reason architecture vary from society to society. The physical structure is the final architectural work which we are seeing in the society, country and the world as a whole. It passes from three well-defined stages e.g. planning, designing and construction. The scope, nature and the importance of architecture had changed after the works of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). He was an American who revolutionized the world of architecture. He had started his career at the age of 19 year at Chicago. His first experience with the Louis Sullivan remained very helpful throughout the life. Sullivan was the most famous architecture of his time. He was awarded the title of “The Father of Modernism”. He very quickly identified the talent of Wright and made him the leading draftsman.

He had married with the Catherine Lee Tobin and permanently settled in Chicago. In 1893, he left the job and made a studio near to his home. In this studio, he had appointed young professional in order to expand the business. The Taliesin was the designing laboratory for the Wright. Even after the fearful accident in which his wife and two children died, he reinvented it. Under the banner of Taliesin, some best building, hotels, home and other architecture designed. This time is often called the First Golden Age of Wright. In the 1936, the Wright started a project named Fallingwater. This project is the true combination of nature and design. Wright worked hard for this project and it is still called the best House of the 20th century. This project gave the name and fame to the Wright in the public sphere. This time period of Wright is termed as the Second Golden Age.

By the year 1936, Wright became the authority in the architectural work not only in the America, but also in the world. In the early years of career, Wright focused on the luxury designs for the wealthy people. In the mid 1930s, he moved towards the designs for the middle class homes. Being an experienced architecture, he realized that money is not necessary for good designs. He introduced the Usonian designs. It was a single story design along with some unusual settings. The design became famous in the North America, and many middle class people appreciated it. The career of Wright from the 1940s and till the death is known as the Third Golden Age. In this time period, many outstanding designs of the world introduced. The most famous were Guggenheim Museum in New York, Gammage Auditorium in Arizona, Price tower in Bartlesville etc.
