Introduction

Agile development has turned out to be a preferred approach for systems development in majority of the companies worldwide. The major reasons due to which firms are shifting towards this method of development the alignment of market and business needs, accelerating delivery, and bringing about improvement on a continuous basis in the operations of the business. There is a wide range of methodologies that are being followed in the development of software in organizations. Dynamic Systems Development Method is one of the Agile methods that is being used for the development of software of organizations worldwide. DSDM forms part of Alliance of Agile. The major focus of DSDM is on the projects of Information Systems (IS) which are characterized by strict budgets and time schedules. The case study that will be used in this project will be the case study of The Children Support Agency (CSA). According to the case study, the IT Consultant, Sebastian LeFevre, has decided to recommend one of the approaches associated with Agile Methods to the Chief Executive Officer of CSA as he thinks that this would be an interesting project for him to get involved with. The Agile Method that Sebastian has recommended to the Chief Executive is called DSDM Atern.

Section A - Management Summary regarding appropriateness of DSDM implementation within CSA

The case study shows that the Children Support Agency is lacking the right Information Technology skills and tools within the agency. The organization does not even have a single software of database that can be used for processing the entered and the gathered data. Additionally, the organization and the people working for it are not well aware regarding storing the important data securely. In other words, it can be said that the culture of the agency is not conducive for promoting Information Technology. Therefore, CSA is required to adopt an entirely innovative approach whose foundation is laid on Agile methods for executing different operations of business. Additionally, the fact holds crucial significance that CSA needs to change the culture of its organization in order to make the environment of its organization conducive for Information Technology. For this purpose, the organization needs to train its staff so that they get trained for making use of Information Technology systems.
