Global Warming

Abstract

Everyone living on this earth is willing to have a human-friendly environment. However, it's the human who have also been identified as a contributor to global warming. On the other hand, researchers have also claimed that natural or geological changes are also causes of global warming. This paper aims to have an in-depth research on the environmental issue of global warming. The research paper further examines the role of human in the global warming.

Global Warming

Introduction

The world is facing severe environmental issues in 21st century and considering the current trend, these issues will tend to grow further. There are numerous environmental issues, but the crucial ones include, water pollution, air pollution, waste management and global warming (McConnell & Abel, 2007). Environment can be protected by reducing the degradation of natural resources and conservation of Eco-system, but most importantly the focus should be on the major factor that is contributing to the environmental crisis; which is growth in population. Environmental crises can be also be categorized in terms of global economic standing of a country (McConnell & Abel, 2007). Global warming is recognized as an important environmental issue and can be defined as increase in temperature in the troposphere that itself bring changes to the climate.

It is a fact that scientists believe that earth's temperature is rising. They also believe that natural changes and activities by human race or both can play an important role in global warming. It is also noticeable that global climate change is a broader terminology which refers to changes in the Earth's climate, including temperature, precipitation and storm intensity and models (Shaw, 2002). The debate on the subject is unclear because many worlds' climate experts claim that global warming is occurring due to human activities as human activity is a key element in raising the temperature. However, there are also many researchers who believe that there are some other reasons as they identified a direct relationship between changing climate and increasing emissions of carbon caused by natural changes (Solomon 2009). It is also believed that difficulty for these scientists to understand climate change is extremely difficult due to lack of technology and experimentation. In turn, that separates these two groups of scientists. It is also a fact that both the sides also believe that global warming is a serious threat to the planet and if nothing is done then the consequences could be devastating (Rabe, 2010).

Gravity of the Situation

There is no doubt about the fact that earth's climate is largely dependent on the sun. Without solar energy, the Earth would cool the planet that will not be able to support any life. The greenhouse effect is a natural process that also affects the Earth's climate (Shaw, 2002). The greenhouse effect warms the lower troposphere and the Earth's surface due to the existence of gases called greenhouse gases. These gases are water vapor, nitrous oxide, ...
